I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
